here are the two latest poems for my writing class:
Childhood
Short soft grass
under bare feet.
Warm summer air
caressing browned skin.
Squeals of laughter
soaring high on a swing.
Tears sting the eyes as the
bee leaves his mark.
Cool running water
sprinkles the ground as
arms and legs splash
and play.
and:
you blamed me
you blamed me. for years you
pointed a finger in my
direction. Burning me
with guilt. Toxic
like acid reflux bubbling
into my throat. silencing
me with tequila saturated
accusations. alcohol coursing
through your veins. false
justice consumed
from brown liquid. empty bottles
scattered the floor, a trap
of silenced betrayal. tripped
I fall bleeding, dripping blood
into empty bottles. my sacrifice
would never be enough
to sweep away the mess
we made. you still blamed
me, yet I lived.
