Happy New Year!

Jan 03, 2005 19:45

Happy New Year everybody. So, as sucky as this holiday season has been, I could have sworn New Years was going to be hell. It turned out pretty good this time though. This was the first New Years I didn't spend at church. My parents decided to have this big party at my house and the entire family came over. We had dinner and we all had party hats, horns, confetti, noise makers and sparklers for when the clock hit midnight. In the mean time we saw this very creepy movie called Mind Hunters. It was pretty cool though. When the clock hit 12, it was amazing. We went to the balcony and we could see fireworks coming from EVERYWHERE! It was spectacular! The great view from my house really paid off. Even our next door neighbors had fireworks. At 12 Beatriz called me and then Felix. I was so happy! *sniff* Then I called Eric, Stefi and Arelis but none of them picked up the phone. After saying bye bye to 2004 we finished watching the movie, drank cider and talked and talked like until 4 AM. My entire family spent the night at my house, some in a tent outside, others in the guest room, others in the family room and the office, others in my brother's room and my cousin and I stayed in my room. It was fun. Next day we woke up at 9 and had some nice pancakes and bacon. After breakfast Auremi and I just went back to sleep and woke up at 12.

So that day my cousin and I were supposed to go to the fair, but the year 2005 decided to start out all wet. It was raining all over the island that day so we ended up going to Chilis with Stefi, Felix, Ivan and Eric. We had fun. After eating I left Auremi at Osvaldos' house and we went to my house for the sleepover. Beaky and Arelis took a while in getting here and I had invited the guys to come and play so they got here first. We played a few video games and chatted while the other girls got here. When they got here we played Pictionary, drank some wine coolers and got a little tipsy, had pillow fights and had a few snacks. Later on we played fortune telling games, we played with my brand new pool table, we watched TV for a short while and had cookies and milk since we weren't able to make the brownies. :( My oven is still busted and I completely forgot. Shit. Oh well. We had fun anyway. I offered the guys to stay over, but Ivan wanted to leave because they had something to do the next day and bla bla bla, so the guys left like at 4 AM. Us girls kept chatting and stuff like until 5. Next day we woke up like at 10:30 and we went to Denny's for a nice brunch. Afterwords Beaky and Stefi went home because their moms were beginning to complain and Arelis stayed so Nadia and I could do that interview we need for her wedding video. We had to make up Arelis and everything! It was fun! After that, Nadia, Carlos, Arelis and I played a round of Pictionary, then a board game called Settlers. It was fun too, but Arelis had to leave at the beginning of the game. :( After the game Carlos, Nadia and I saw some improv videos and then they left.

Today I went with Arelis, Beaky, Stefi and her family for a yummy chinese lunch to celebrate Arelis's design that she is using on her cards and realtor signs. We went to Kimpo Garden because the Tokyo Grill was closed. It was really good, the service was great, so was the food and the prices were amazingly cheap for such a nice restaurant. After the lunch/dinner thing we went to Stefi's and watched The Little Mermaid. Then I took Beaky home and went home myself.

So, year 2005 has gone pretty well so far.

Things to be thankful for in 2004:

1. I met the great group of friends I have the pleasure of sharing with today. It's been a wonderful year full of fun activities and unique moments thanks to all of you. This year has been one of the best in my life and you have been the main reason for it. *sniff* From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for being such great friends, for loving and accepting me for who I am and for making my life so special, fun and full of adventure. You have really made me really happy. :)

2. We finally moved into the new house. I finally got to have my dream oriental theme room, a big house where I can throw kick ass pool parties and pijama parties and what not, I'm slightly closer to everybody in the metropolitan area and it's a really nice and comfortable house. It's been really cool so far!

3. My studies. So far I've aced my classes this year. First semester I only had 1 B and 5 A's, and the second semester I had A's in all 6 classes. It's been really hard, but it's been worth it. I've been taking a bunch of classes that I love and each semester I meet even more great professors that have made my studies a lot more easygoing, fun and pleasurable. I just absolutely love what I'm studying! And no matter how much of a bitch it can be sometimes, I really love my univeristy.

4. My job. I have to be thankful for my first job, and one that's so easygoing and comfortable and that gives me some nice extra money that I plan on saving for a very important cause. :)

5. My parents. Even though like all parents my parents can be a mayor pain in the ass, and like all parents they have their pros and cons, I have to be very thankful for my parents. During this year they have given me a lot of freedom and they treat me more like an adult. Sure, they still treat me like the nanny and housekeeper and sometimes I have to admit I don't feel that loved, but at least they let me live my life and make my own decisions, and I've had a lot of freedom by their part and they always support me in what I want to do with my future and I really appreciate that.

6. MY PUPPIES! Thankfully I finally found Nannette a nice boyfriend with a very nice owner, making possible the birth of Lunnette and Hulky! Thankfully the two puppies were born perfectly healthy and without any trouble at all, and they are ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! Hopefully we'll be able to get her pregnant again at some point, see if she has some more puppies this time.

7. The improvisation theatre experience. Joining that group has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Even though it cut my free time in half and gave me a shitload of stress during the festival and deprived me of a lot of sleeping time it has defenetly been one of the best experiences ever. I've learned so much, met tons of great people, made lots of new friends, it helped me manage the stress produced by my classes and daily life. Not to mention that now I get to be an attention whore on stage! :P Eventually it will even give me the chance to travel and go new places. It really has been a great privilege.

8. Eric. I have to be thankful for all the love he gave me, for believing in me, having faith in me, always being there for me and helping me every single time I needed him, and for being such a great friend even after all that I put him through. I thank him for those great 4 months he was by my side and I will never forget him for that. You'll always have a special place in my heart.

9. Personal shit. I feel I'm coming out of an emotional gap I have been trapped in for many years now. I finally feel I'm starting to see the light, I've had the pleasure to feel things I thought I would never feel again, it's like I'm a kid again. I finally have hope again, I have lots of hope and dreams for the future.

Things to look forward to this new year and resolutions for 2005:

1. Lose a little weight or at least tone my muscles a little. I want to be able to fit into my old clothes again.
2. Continue to get great grades, hopefully I'll have great professors and very interesting classes.
3. Learn to control my money spendings.
4. Save like $1,000 dollars for my trip to Mexico.
5. Go to Mexico and stay like for one month. Hopefully I'll be able to go to Palenque, Oaxaca and other places I really want to go to. Also I hope I get to share with the great bunch of Mexican friends I met during the festival.
6. Sign up for level 3 in Teatro Deportivo and continue to partake in that great experience. I look forward to developing my skills and become a much better improvisor and actress.
7. Learn how to use Final Cut Pro so I can be a more profesional editor by the time I have to video tape and edit Nadia's wedding.
8. Finally get my gears going and my lazy ass up so I can practice both Japanese and the guitar. I look forward to taking both Japanese and guitar classes this year, probably during the semester because during summer I probably won't be in the country much.
9. Go to Europe with my family in July. My family is planning on going to Europe in July, but it's still not for sure. Stefi is also going to Europe in July, so hopefully we can do it together in some way.
10. Nadia's wedding. I'm really looking forward to seeing my best friend get married. *sob* I feel so old!!! :P
11. Have lots of parties! This year I'll make sure to throw one hell of a Valentine's Day Party and hopefully I'll be able to throw that Asian Themed Birthday Party I've always wanted, to celebrate my legal age. Jeje. Oh! And let's not forget Nadia's bachelorette party...buahahahahahaha.....
12. Take all my friends to Culebra in the summer and go back to Toro Negro at some point.
13. Hopefully I'll be able to fall in love and have a real and long lasting relationship so I can get married at some point in my life. Oh well. I can dream. If not this year then maybe the next, or the next, or the next...

Well then that's all I can think of now. I hope everyone has a great year and that they can be thankful to God for the one that we just finished. I know I am! Best wishes to everyone, and remember, new year, new hopes, new chances, new experiences, new people, new friends, new knowledge...their is so much too look forward to! Take care, hugs and kisses, love you all! happy new year everybody!
