I keep thinking I'll post here about the latest events/thoughts of my crazy life, but by the time I think of it, so much more has happened that what I was going to write about now seems like old news. So I'll do my best to record and share what has been most interesting about the past few weeks:
- I have too much to do with the business alliance; I will never get it all done, and although I know this, it still haunts me each day. We're about to launch the directory; we have 50 members, and I'm trying to close $25K of sponsorship in the next 7 days
- The Meadowlark is a cool new Denver venue. You should go there sometime.
- I recently attended the biggest poetry slam of the year, a competition to select the 5 poets that will represent Denver in this summer's national competition. It was AWESOME. I love poets. I love when someone can weave an entire experience with their words. When they can share a vision or feeling so intensely that I gasp. I admire the courage of some poets, who speak the truth of their or our experiences in such a way that you can no longer act, feel or think the same as you did before. I'm not a slam poet, but wow do I appreciate their work. We have real talent here in Denver.
keturnarrived yesterday. It's surreal to have him here, and yet feels comfortable. I was really exhausted yesterday so we didn't do much, but I'm hoping to get a lot done so I can leave the office and spend some quality time. I'm going to introduce him to City O City today, and the Tetris League tomorrow.
- the news of rising food costs and shortages has finally reached the main stream. I must admit that I'm a bit frightened at times by what people's reactions will be if when our food distribution system crumbles under the rising costs of transportation. So many people not even thinking....
- Which reminds me; I have lots of seeds to plant in the next few weeks
- Someone stole kidnapped moved liberated my garden gnome that Art and I got last year in the Czech Republic. We carried it with us for a whole month across Europe before bringing it back home. I shouldn't have let Glenda convince me to put it in the front yard. I'm sad. He was so cute.
- My garden makes me intensely happy. But it needs more growing things. Can I please have a housemate that will do housework, yard work, garden work? And clean the bathtub when I don't want to? And not be cluttery? And like to cook?
- Mercer and Timothy (Art's son) are visiting in about 10 days. I'll be good to see him
Well, that's it for now. I'm sure there are more interesting things I could share, but I've forgotten them.
