school, home, internet, entertainment, anime & manga, the end
alright, i'll try for a decent update this time.
school. there's only 3 weeks left now, i think. up until last week, i was pretty much working non-stop on school projects. i guess i still am but i've been able to have a little more time to myself (though that's only because i haven't started on my final projects). i've gotten my final assignment from both my art classes, so i've been staying home from them to catch up on some of my outside projects (namely the 45 sketches i need to have done by the end of the semester, and i only have like 13 done). i've also got a good idea for my final project for 2-d design, i just need to fine-tune it.
i've been skipping my kickboxing class also. ^_^; i'm only taking it for credit (i.e. i won't get a letter grade, so it won't affect my gpa), and i really feel like it's been dragging me down lately. i feel exhausted after i get out of that class, and then i have to spend all day at school afterwards (it gets out at 12:20pm and i'm at school until 9:30pm) only to go home and work on school projects some more. i'll probably go back for the last couple weeks, but only because i'll feel guilty if i don't go back.
yesterday, with the help of bryan's bad influence, i skipped school all day. @_@; i didn't miss anything too important, and luckily i've been going to class pretty diligently otherwise, but i can't allow myself to do that again.
home. we got a new tv!!! waah, it's amazing. we got it a while ago, actually, but i haven't really updated since then. it's a samsung, and it's really sexy.
naida is going to be 1 year old on may 10th!! and for that matter, ravyn and willow are coming up on their birthdays, too. they're growing so fast. ;_; we also got them some new things! a new water fountain and some collapsible cat play cubes (though ours are black & zebra striped), both of which turned out to be better purchases than we could have imagined.
the fountain i wrote all about on the my flickr, so about the cat play cubes...they instantly attracted all three cats' attention. they explored the cubes and each cat has figured out their favorite thing to do with them. naida: hide inside and pounce on un-suspecting passerby; ravyn: pounce on the top of the cube so that it collapses on top of the cat inside; willow: smell it and stare at it. ravyn and naida wreck havock in them, they've flipped it every which way and managed to close one of them overnight (they collapse easily, but they pop right back up unless you fold them inward...so i have no idea how they did it).
bryan and i have been able to spend more time together lately, so i'm happy about that. ^_^ it's going to be almost three years since he proposed to me soon (that's right, he proposed to me only a few months after we met...sounds crazy, but it really felt natural), we were discussing getting a new engagement ring because my current one has been fading (it was originally gold and we had it dipped in white gold, but the gold shows through even when i get it re-dipped). we'll see what happens with that. it wouldn't be the first time i traded the ring though...he originally got me another one, but then we traded it in for a cheaper one (from $300 to $100 cuz we were both poor back then), so it would be my third engagement ring, from the same guy. lol.
he was asked to do a panel at a conference in oregon (for those of you that know bryan and don't know, he's gotten pretty popular in the blogging world as of late. he recently re-designed his site [with azumanga daioh pictures], so check out avalonstar.com when you can!), so he'll probably be going to that. i don't know if he plans to take me along, i haven't asked. i keep forgetting the date of the conference, so it might collide with school anyway.
internet. i started another community, but this one is different. it's personal, it's more like an alternate journal for me (because i'm the only one with posting access), but i didn't want to log out and log in everytime i wanted to post on it, so i figured if i made it a community it'd be easier. this community is for me to post things i make/upload on. ^_^ so far i have only posted my hello! project and jpop lists for requesting, uploaded some jpop videos (aka PVs) and tommy february6 screen captures, and uploaded some para para videos, but i plan to post more variety eventually. it will include things such as icons, movie screen captures, scanlations, and reviews (probably of movies, anime and manga).
so if you're interested in any of that, go join! jenvie jenvie jenvie. later today i'll be posting a whole batch of utada hikaru PVs because i uploaded them for someone else. originally i wanted to use the blog bryan started for me for these things (sayonarane.net), but i don't have a design for it, nor do i know how to make one, so it's probably not going to happen. i don't want to post in a non-pretty blog. :/
err, there was something else i was going to write about. oh yes! i've updated my flickr account with many photos, though they're mostly older photos. i've gotten the battery to my digicam replaced, though, so hopefully i can start updating it again.
and oh yes, i figured out how to change what the "mood" and "music" things say on my lj layout. sweet.
entertainment. i already expressed my sentiments about lost. was that the season finale, by the way?
now, about america's next top model. i haaaaaaaaaaate jade!! i've never been able to say that about another contestant before. usually they just annoy me, which is how i felt about jade before, but now i can't stand her. at all. what did it for me is her refusal to accept that somebody else could be good at modeling. "she's not on my level, i'm not worried." i HATE that. the first time she said it, i dismissed it. the second time she said it, i was annoyed but didn't care. the third time it upset me. now i'm fed up. judges, please, please send her home on the next episode.
now let's talk movies! i feel like i haven't been to the theaters in a long time...last movie i saw on the big screen was 16 blocks, how long ago was that? so now that some movies are coming up that bryan is interested in (he's not a huge movie fan, he won't go to the movies just to go...he has to be highly compelled), i feel happy! ^__^ in a week or two it's the davinci code and then *drumroll* X-MEN 3!!! i have been waiting anxiously since i saw the second movie, so now that it's coming near i'm so excited!!! bryan pointed out that it should come out just as i finish school, so it should be a nice reward of sorts.
oh yeah, we bought advent children when it came out, but we haven't even opened it. i guess that's because we've already seen it, but you would think that with our new tv we would have popped it in as soon as we got home. ah well. bryan's also been super sweet and has bought me a lot of disney movies recently (it's always been my dream to own the entire collection eventually), so i have the incredible, a bug's life, the lady and the tramp, bambi, and the aristocats. yay. ^_^ we were going to buy the lion king the other day, but apparently the disney vault has struck again and they took it off the shelves (so they can re-release it later and charge you more, again).
oh yes, i also now own the harry potter movies, and harry potter scene it? (board game). how did this happen?
anime and manga. i'll keep this short. i've got some files on my old hard drive back thanks to bryan, so i'm making him watch kodomo no omocha (aka kodocha) because it's a great series. i'm also keeping up with the NANA anime, they just released episode 5.
two manga series that i've been reading for a while ended: snow drop with volume 12, and othello with volume 7. i need to find new manga to start reading now. i just picked up ultra maniac volume 5, though i still wish the translations weren't so corny. the NANA scanlations came out with chapter 51, it was slightly less depressing (a bit bland, but informative). i'm also catching up with my good morning call scanlations and i'm probably gonna get back into downloading lots of scanlations over the summer.
the end. i did my best at updating, so mission accomplished! happy cinco de mayo and all that, but please remember it's not the mexican independence day. ^^ ciao.
