opening ceremonies today

who else is excited about the winter olympics? if so, what sports do you like? i'm typically girly in this respect and am excited about the figure skating. rooting for michelle kwan, though i know it's a long shot. i'm just glad that annoying sarah hughes won't be around. x_x; i'm neutral about sasha cohen though. i don't know the skaters from other countries by name, but i'll recognize them when i see them.

thanks again to everyone for their birthday wishes. :]

i'm sore, again. this time from push ups. and apparently i need to ice my foot. i really dislike my kickboxing class, i wish i didn't desperately need to get in better shape (not just with my body, but my stamina). i also wish i weighed what i looked. i see bigger girls than me weigh like 140-150, and i wish that's what my scale read...it's just not very encouraging.

weekend, yay. :] not much in terms of homework. probably some really easy japanese things, and an asymetry project for my 2-d design class, which is harder than it sounds because i can't figure out what i want to design. so workload so far is managable, it's the actual school time that's exhausting. oh, yesterday we did self portraits with pastels in drawing. i liked using lots of blues and purples (i would).

which reminds me, i hate when people i'm sitting next to turn around and say, "ooh, you're so good" because then i can't be critical with my work without them going "yeah right, i wish i could do that," like i'm fishing for compliments or something. i'm just at a different level than they are, i'm worrying about improving myself, not comparing myself to others. it's nice to have someone to talk to, but at the same time sometimes i just want to put on my music and shut everyone out so i can do my own thing and not have to listen to them say, "ugh, i can't do this, how did you do it?"

and that's all. ciao.
