Dear Mysterious Author....

If you stalk my journal you'll notice I don't post a whole lot, (cause my life is kind of boring but I like it that way), but since there are lots of newbies who have obviously ignored the plaintive world ending in doom if I don't finish this story commentry that goes along with a Labyfic Exchange, here is a bit about what I like and don't like. Which isn't much one way or the other. I'm easy.

Jareth. I do like him to have some edge, an air of danger. He's unpredictable, he doesn't live in our world, our social norms mean nothing to him. But he's not omnipotent. He has faults, weaknesses. I like to think he's not as in charge of things he he might think he is.

Sarah. Definately 'of age'. Probably still naive about the world, wanting to surround herself with objects and experiences that allow her to escape reality. I don't see her as being equal to Jareth, but that doesn't mean she will ever be defeated by him.

The Labyrinth. I love Labyrinth as an entity in her own right. She has thoughts, makes plans, has a purpose.

The Crew. Love them in stories. Hoggle, Didy, Ludo and the Junk Lady.

Writing styles. I'll read anything, from fluff to farce to tragedy. It's part of what makes this fandom in particular so active even after all the years since the movie. It's so open to interpretation. I don't mind smut or pron, just as long as its between species whose appendages match! I'm not a fan of Toby, sorry. The kid does nothing for me. I don't like Jareths eyes being descibed as 'mismatched'! It's the most over used word in the fandom, lol. Outside of Labyrinth, I'm into SPN, Dr Who, Whedonverse, True Blood, Game of Thrones and Dresden Files. Anyone from those worlds could easily take a stroll through Jareths kingdom :)

Anyway I hope this helps, but honestly I'll treasure whatever you write, cause it's like seeing your dreams come to life!
