I suspect this might pertain to at least one of you on this flist, but Syfy has released the Warehouse 13 season 4.5 premiere a week early; it can be viewed
here on Syfy's official WH13 page or
on hulu (it's only gonna be up for four more days though. I'd have put up a proper review of it but all I can manage is: MY BABIEZZZZZZ AND EVERYTHING HURTS AND NOTHING IS ALRIGHT. And just a whole lot of general flailing and teary sighs.)
ALFREDO ♥♥
Alfredo's, "You got to get over yourself" was the favorite line tonight. I just wish we could see more of him. Besides the delightful bonus of Sherlock's interactions with both Joan and Alfredo revealing different shades to his character, Alfredo is an interesting character in his own right.
Sherlock is such a complex character, and JLM's acting brings it out in such a brilliant way; you can't help but sympathize with the character. I wonder though how much of it is tied to Sherlock's daddy issues, and how much of it is just Sherlock protecting himself by building this impenetrable wall where he keeps his feelings close to his chest (and then I wonder how much of that is tied into the stereotypical macho-man bullshit that men aren't supposed to be emotional and my head spins because it's probably a combination of all three to some extent).
Sherlock waiting for Joan to wake up is starting to veer on the creepy side. Preciously creepy? If there is such a thing.
I know we basically got Alfredo's conversation via Joan, but man, I'd have loved to have seen that scene, even if it was mostly a repeat of his conversation with Joan. I just want more Alfredo, and more Alfredo + Sherlock (Alfredo + everyone honestly) scenes, and feel a little cheated we didn't get that--even though I loved that scene Sherlock had with Joan. They'd have probably deleted Joan's version of events if we were to get the conversation with Alfredo, and I don't think I'd be okay with that either so it's like you can't have everything (but I /do/ want everything).
I love Joan's little present to Sherlock there at the end. It's so very apt. And Robert Frost is love.
