castle 5x19
The last five episodes have been really, really good. And not just with the murder-of-the-week aspect of it, but just the awesome character interactions and plot lines.
Martha calls Beckett "Katherine" in this episode which was so weird, I had to pause the video because I momentarily forgot who Katherine was. (Castle calls her Kate sometimes or Beckett mostly, and so that's what she is to me. But I love that this shows that Beckett is like Richard to Martha--someone integral to her life that she calls them by their proper name.)
I read the comments on the video, and wondered what Beckett's present was to him, and it unfortunately took me until like the last twelve minutes of the show to figure it out? But I was very giddy to figure it out when I did because it is the perfect gift for someone like Castle.
The nod to the 100th episode milestone I liked (besides the happy 99th cake in "The Wild Rover"):
C: How many murders do you think we've solved since we met?
B: Maybe 100 or so…?
C: Here’s to 100 more.
I also didn't know the series creator and his wife made a cameo at the beginning, but that was very cool.
How they could've kept Castle's gift a secret from him, I have no freaking clue but that's not the only thing I had to suspend my disbelief for in this episode so I'm not gonna question it too much. Everyone really should get an Oscar for their performance though.
