If you didn't know, OMG
Yahoo is shutting down del.icio.us! (Or you can read about it
here.) You guys, I use that site like ten times a day! What am I gonna do without it? How will I come back to all the awesome fic I bookmark? Admittedly, I don't have a lot of bookmarks saved and my tags are unwieldly as a jungle forest so you know...but I loved the interface and bundles and the fact that there was a Firefox add-on so all I had to do to add a bookmark was to click on my browser and input all the info and the webpage would be saved. I mean, come on, it does NOT get any easier than that!
deliciouslymad will then become kinda obsolete too, and that was an awesome comm.
Although there might be some good news about a replacement del.icio.us? If you use del.icio.us and are panicking about what to do now,
help is here. I will be trying every free option on that list and maybe some more if I stumble upon them.
I've never liked Yahoo before but this cements it. Yahoo, way to go to having more people hate your guts now.
Goodbye dear del.icio.us. I will miss you and how easy you were to use; how elegant looking you were; your awesome attempt at making me semi-organized; your tag and description functionality; your awesome, unique - but oh so fitting - name; how you were always there for me in my darkest hour when I got into a new fandom and I'd spend the time I should've been sleeping browsing through your search function, hoping against sanity and reason that people out here on the Internets were as obsessed about my new, shiny fandom/pairing/character as I was so I wouldn't have to feel quite alone and my addiction could be sated.
You, del.icio.us, meant a lot to many people. And to say that you will be sorely missed will, quite frankly, be the understatement of the century.
