The Best Outreach ever.

I had never thought that i would enjoy an outreach throughout my entire stay in La salle. Now that it has happened, i would never regret to not say it.
It just happened in a very unique way! i could not say enough to explain it. I knew that it was gonna be held at the gawad kalinga site and i thought: "Ok, lets just get through this!"

But now i wish that we could go through it again and again. :)

When i saw the site, it was something beyond my expectation of it! It was so well kept. As in Clean, Colorful, Quiet, and Very Quaint! I was so happy to see something very well made for these people. The welcome was very warm. In just an instant, the moment we came in, we were already being greeted! at every corner, there was hospitality! and it made me feel extremely wanted. i just had to give them my time.

So we were arranged to our foster family. And me and Luke got Nanay Mila. Grabe! Absolutely Loved her the moment i entered her house.. :) Not to mention her grand daughter. So quirky! and so hospitable. We had no trouble to bond with her because she had welcomed us with completely open arms and a fiery attitude. Their house wasn't that much to be honest but it was really cozy and home-y. The best qualities of a house. The time of acquaintance had come and we were talking non-stop! we also happened to watch a korean movie. It was my crazy love! and they completely enjoyed it! They kept laughing and telling us what happened even though i already watched it. But i didn't mind.

Then we had to cook lunch! we just cooked standard food. Chicken with breading. Or some sort of special flour. Whatever. Ate Malyn (Nanay Mila's apo) started to speak in english for reasons i cannot point out. hahaha!!! but i was sad to hear what was wrong with our foster mother. She said some sort of defect with her eye, she was diabetic, and usually alone at home. and for some reason, i could never leave her side. I just couldn't think why i could ever. So she didn't eat the food i cooked, because of her health problems. She just sat there quietly talking to us in such a lovely manner. So soft-spoken and Gentle. Luke started to just go around helping with the bags of sand. But i decided to not leave the house at that time.

Of course i went out every now and then but came back soon. taking pictures, and meeting more of my classmates. We continued to bond with the family until the community service came up. That was when i started to worry about my foster mom. I checked up on her every once in a while because she had told me that she was usually alone and would get cold if ever she wold go out of her house. So i guess you could say that she barely goes out of the house. I really felt sorry for her and could not leave her for too long.

For the community service, we had to teach the kids some basic stuff. Human body parts, addition and the such. It was really sweet because the kids were just adorable. They would just gang up on the camera whenever i would take a picture of the activity. I got teased once in a while but i thought what the heck, let them do it because we are barely there.

The next part was cool. We had created a space for some sort of relay, but when we were done, the teachers ended up playing the boom tarat-tarat song. and all of the little kids were doing it in unison. It was just so damn cute!!! Time passed and it was almost time to go home. Sir Jay wanted to bring our foster family to the misc. hall.

I wanted to bring Nanay Mila. But she was exhausted and being quite old as she is, i left her to her to her rest. So we were having the reflections of what happened during the outreach. But sad while listening because Nanay Mila wasn't there. It was time for the community picture but i left to see Nanay Mila. and that was the time we had to go.
I gave her the token and left with a slight tear. :) and said my last goodbye.
we left the GK Site and were being "Farewelled" by the families.

one of the teenager kids of the GK Site walked with me to the bus asking me when we would come back. I amswered him by saying i don't know. Then he asked me about my other classmates. I replied the same way and he just kept going on with "Bakit naman?"

I then promised myself and to the Site that i would be back soon. and i mean it.

I will be back soon. I promise! :)
