In honour of easter
Things I learned at church this morning:
1) Holy CRAP is my voice ever out of whack. It felt like I was a runner who hadn't ran in weeks and then tried to run a marathon. Ouch.
2) My sight-reading is also sorely lacking. Not that I had much to begin with, but what I did have? Shot.
3) Despite points 1 and 2, I still remember how to properly sing the word Alleluia. Thank you five straight years of choir.
Also, A helpful note to anyone going to church, and especially the overly ambitious soprano sitting behind me. The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah? It's hard ok? Like, not just "challenging". Hard. If you haven't ever sang it before but WANT to because you think it would be "oh so much fun", please trust me when I say, it's probably best to just hum.
