hooooooooooooooooooooooly cow, everyone needs a night like this every once in a while.
we headed downtown for the cd release celebration for Saturday Sounds Good to Me. oddly enough, the band we drove in for (because it was such a long drive) wasn't on until midnight so we headed to the majestic to chill for bit, perhaps enjoy a drink? holy martinis, batman! i was never really a huge fan of martinis before tonight, perhaps just because the ones that i had sampled were all of the extremely-alcoholic-taste in nature. but the drink menu had a martini list at least 8 long and goodness, but didn't they all have lovely descriptions. my dearest miss lish began with a "pink panty pulldown" which was scandalously fruity in nature while i stuck with a new personal favorite which was totally drink-gasmic. this brillant concoction consisted of raspberry stoli, a shot of espresso, bailey's and marachino cherry garnish. can we say YUM?
naturally, there were many topics of conversations touched on and a select number of phone calls were made during the course of the evening (ie, only two people were called and interestingly enough, they have the same name). sappy-ness abounded as we contemplated life without the other, unimaginable in nature (i think i compared it to lish living without soy milk, ie painful), siblings and best friends and boyfriends and sex & the city and i wish i were more witty ... and the garden state soundtrack just rocks the world. timbits followed the evening and while helpful, didn't stop someone who shall remain nameless from landing in an elegant heap at the bottom of my porch. never fear, blue's clues band-aids to the rescue!
all in all, it was a most successful evening. yay for lots of stuff, good conversation with your bestests indubidibly*.
*indubidibly: this reminds me of the princess bride night in cheryl's shaw single. abby, cheryl, dan - correct me if i'm mistaken, but didn't brian do a good imitation of that guy? anybody know what he's been up to? cheryl, i think most of tdub was in your room that night; weren't you, abby & i the only girls there?
speaking of movie nights, mrs. vicki, mom and myself had one last night. main feature was the prince and me, and yes, cheryl, i stayed awake for the whole thing this time. ;) plus, i managed to get most of the couch by the end of the movie.
and now it's super late, well, perhaps not SUPER late, but late enough where the rational part of me is surfacing and saying that i have a super-duper long two days ahead of me and to get some beauty sleep. therefore, toodles!
