So I was feeling a bit down this afternoon and decided to watch The Life of Guskou Budori, an anime movie that was just released subbed. If you go into this expecting a fantasy-style upbeat adventure, (since based on the trailer I just watched, that what it seems to be advertising itself as), you might want to not watch it, since it's rather depressing all around. The first half-hour is basically "Grave of the Fireflies but with cat people", and while the rest of the film gets slightly happier, it also gets much stranger. I have my own explanation about the weirder parts of the film if anyone wants to hear them, but I won't spoil it here.
So while it is a very pretty movie at times, it's not something a young child should watch if this ever gets an English release. I would recommend giving it a try, and I'd love to discuss it with anyone who does end up watching it.
