Parallels 2014 Letter
Hello to my Parallels author! Sorry about the delay in getting this up, but I hope you find it helpful. Since there’s a good chance we don’t know each other in fandom, here’s a quick list of things I like and don’t like in the fic I read.
Things I love: well-crafted plots, character studies, fluff, AUs, romance
Things I hate: gore/detailed descriptions of violence, major character death, rape, a/b/o stuff
Another
Requested Characters: Any
I'm only familiar with the anime, if it makes any difference. I love the setting of Another and the creepy atmosphere that's present throughout the town of Yomiyama. A fic set during or post-canon would be ideal, especially if the post-canon fic explored the impact of Class 3-3 figuring out how to stop the calamity. Otherwise, some character-centric stuff would be great. How does Kouichi deal with everything after he leaves? How do those who lost friends cope?
I requested any character since I do love them all, but I do ship Kouichi/Mei and Kazami/Teshigawara.
Danball Senki
Requested Characters: Uzaki Takuya, Hiyama Ren, Yagami Eiji, Zaizen Sousuke
I adore everything about Danball Senki - the plot, the awesome battles, the characters, the growth most of them go through, and even the LBXs themselves. I’d love to see some backstory and/or family fic for the characters who didn’t get that explored in the anime. What do they do in their time off? What did everyone get up to in the year between the first series and W (or between W and Wars)? And I’m also open to AUs - I love feudal Japan AUs, for instance.
I ship Takuya/Ren and Yagami/Zaizen, but I'm totally ok with gen fic for them.
Gundam Build Fighters

Build Fighters is definitely one of my top five favourite Gundam series, mostly because its so joyful. I love the entire cast, so go ahead and write about whoever interests you the most! I'm most interested in backstory and post-canon fic - aside from Sei and his father, did anyone else watch a Gundam series? How did they choose which mobile suit to use? For post-canon ideas, how did Reiji and Aila adjust to living in Reiji's world? How do Sei and the others deal with parallel worlds being real?
Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East
Requested Characters: Any
Hakkenden is one of those shows that grabbed my interest right from the opening scene and kept it until the very end. The cast is so diverse in both life experiences and personalities that I want to see more of them now that the anime has ended. Although we got a taste of everyone’s backstories in the anime, there wasn’t a whole lot of digging into what makes each character tick aside from Shino and Ao - how does everyone else feel about their lives and respective powers/abilities? I’d also like to see everyone interacting more, since the later additions to the group didn’t really get to bond with the others prior to the battle at the church. What do they think of each other? Maybe they go on a big adventure together and get into trouble?
My main ship for the series is Shino/Shinobu, so I would be very happy if you wrote about them, even if it’s about their friendship rather than a relationship. Daikaku/Keno would also be cool, too. While I can deal with Ao, I'm not a fan of Ao/Shino.
The Eccentric Family
Requested Characters: Benten, Ebisugawa Kaisei, Shimogamo Yasaburou, Shimogamo Yajirou
The setting was what really got me hooked on the show, and then I grew to love the characters and how they relate to each other. Everyone is just so interesting that I wish we had gotten more different point of views aside from Yasaburou’s, since I feel there’s a lot to be explored in this world. What interests me most is the contrasts and parallels we see in the story. Benten was born as human, but she calls herself a tengu while at the same time participating in human activities like the Friday Fellows. Yajirou was born a tanuki but became a frog, at least for the duration of the anime. Some exploration of those character would be awesome, since it feels like the story only scratched the surface of them. Post-anime fic would be great too, especially if there was a focus on Yasaburou and Kaisei’s relationship.
Yasaburou/Kaisei is my main ship, but I won’t object to Yasaburou/Benten.
Shanimuni Go
Requested Characters: Nakahara Tomo, Akiba Eiichi, Takita Ruui, Ide Nobuhisa
I wasn't a fan of tennis when I started this manga, so it was the characters who drew me in and made me more interested in the sport itself. So something focusing more on the characters than the tennis would definitely be a plus. Ide and Takita may be partners, but they don't spend much time together off the court (at least not where I am in the manga). Perhaps Ide or Hinako forces them to spend some time together? They also present an interesting contrast to Nakahara and Akiba, who have been partners since childhood and probably spend too much time together. What do they do off the court? How has Akiba's shyness shaped their friendship?
I don't really ship Ide/Takita, but I do ship Nakahara/Akiba.
