Thank you for saying such nice things about this story - I take your opinion in particular very seriously! I do love writing Eiri trying to sort out his feelings - his psychiatric problems really helped to addict me to Gravitation, because it showed his vulnerable side, not just his casual-sex-smart-mouth character; even if the story had just been about his reluctantly acceping himself as gay it would not have been the same without his problems!
Does my Eiri really not swear much? I hadn't noticed! That's really funny! Perhaps that comes from writing Alexander fics (I can't really have Hephaestion telling Crateros to "f--k off"! Actually when one of the Grav chracters in my story does swear it's quite a relief because varying between ancient Greece and science fiction means its good to finally have characters who can speak like modern people!
Could bang on for ages, but that's for later! Would be happy to post this on gravi but I am really, really stupid at this. I honestly don't know how to post links onto the communities. If you can post a link go ahead with my blessing, otherwise do let me know how I can do it! Seriously, I don't even post on the Alex communties because I don't know how!!!!
Unfortunately, I can't post it for you unless I post as myself or unless I knew your password as well as your username, neither of which strike me as particularly good ideas, but there are two ways for you to create a link to your personal journal without just using the URL. One will look like a LiveJournal cut and is therefore known as a "fake cut"; the other looks like a word or sequence of words, either highlighted or underlined, depending on the style used by the community where you're posting it.
Let's say what you want to use as text is the title, "Autumn Afternoon".
Version 1 (fake cut) (these instructions are all in HTML; this can also be done using the Rich Text Editor, but the HTML method, while requiring more typing, is easier to explain):
([a href="insert URL here"]Autumn Afternoon[/a]) (replace all the brackets with equivalent < or > symbols; if I use them here, it'll create the fake cut except it won't lead anywhere and you won't be able to see the instructions)
Version 2 (plain link) is basically the same as Version 1 except without the bolding or the parenthesis, as follows:
[a href="insert URL here"]Autumn Afternoon[/a]
Here's what they'd actually look like using the actual link from the story:
I hope that was easy enough to follow. You can get the URL either by clicking on 'link' or by copying the URL in the web address bar when you have the entry with the story in it open.
