Updatage
It's been a while since I've posted, so a general update is probably long overdue...
The big news. I didn't take voluntary redundancy. The thought of four months pay in one go was tempting - but in the end I decided that in the absence of any long term career plans, I was probably better in a job where I'm still learning lots and doing (or at least talking about) some exciting projects. Meanwhile, the team seems to be getting smaller by the day...
To happier things - Nicky and I have just booked a holiday to Russia. We fly into Moscow and out from St Petersburg, stopping off at "somewhere-beginning-with-V-sburg" on the way. I'm doing a package for the first time ever. My normal tactic when I go travelling is to turn up at the airport with a backpack and start reading the guidebook on the plane - but it's really hard to get Russian visas without having all your accomodation booked - and apparantly there are lots of places you can't get into without being part of an organised tour. So we've found an agency geared towards backpackers who book the bare essentials for you, and then leave you to fend for yourselves. I'm counting the days...
