WashingtonPost: Woman loses her life and then her privacy after an abortion -- More on the Carhart case. Although this writer seems more ambivalent about abortion than I am, she absolutely nails it on the disgusting abuse of stolen medical information.
And because I feel it needs to be stated every time I discuss a case this serious, here's what I said the other day about why I don't think this makes Dr. Carhart a villain:
Her loss is a tragedy. Their use of her as a weapon against Dr. Carhart is obscene. He handles some of the most complicated cases in the country, and that does mean he and his patients are facing greater risks medically. Watching them twist his expertise and compassion into "butchery" makes me sick.
