There were several articles about which I found myself ranting, so I've pulled them into a separate post. It's very likely I'm going to piss off a lot of people with this one, but I think it's stuff that needs saying. ( Read more... )
Absolutely nothing in this post that offends me, rather it's more or less the same structure I believe, though I do believe in very limited use of the death penalty.
Abortion Rights misinformation is amazing, I have to tell even my more LIBERAL friends corrected information not only on the procedure, but the governmental policy. It's amazing what they've bought into during the latest spat of health care debate, particularly in regards to that topic. I send a number of them to these kinds of posts on your journal when I get tired of it.
As I said in my AIM comment to you, my view of the Roman Catholic Church as an institution is a "Disastrous totalitarian shadow government", though I think I'd like to add a few dozen other choice adjectives to that. It's not the belief in God that I object to, it's not the teaching (as laid out) of Jesus I object to, it's the hypocrisy of the organized religious entity which subjugates and manipulates the psychology of the people who wish to believe. I.e. Organized religion is, in my view point, the bane of free will. The Catholic Papacy, who believe per scripture, in Free Will; seem to have a serious problem with allowing anyone but themselves having the right to exercise it.
As for confirmation bias? Yeah that's more or less the sum of it.
