I had no idea they EXPIRE!!!! Then again, I have CCPL, not CPL, so maybe mine won't. I must ask as I get to pick up my Barnard book today.

(Hmmm... I wonder if Sarah Palin can show that she's had an active library card throughout her adult life -- she's all about learning about the world, donchaknow...)

Library cards "expire" every three years in order for people to check in and ensure that all of their contact information is still up to date, etc.

It's annoying and can catch people off guard at times.
