so as long as these sites are up, the people using them come and go. we keep moving onto the bigger, better, or whatever. and i dont get it.
LIVEJOURNAL so i started using livejournal mainly because of terra. what am i saying, it was because of terra. heck, i just looked at my first entry and it really was a 'im bored and terra told me to' deal. i followed it for a few years non-stop, writing more or less about my day, plans, funny things i saw/heard, and random stuff. and it was all good until i got myspace! i blogged still but it slowly drifted off to once every few months. hence this entry, first since october!
MYSPACE i got a myspace at least 6 months before i actually used it. i just wanted to see a picture so i joined. amanda made me make her one and wanted me to do one too. so i revived my account. and it was ok at first but then i began to become addicted! there was so much more to offer on myspace than livejournal (but blogging i saved for LJ). and i was a myspace addict for years. it was how i stayed in touch with people and i never was going to abandon it. this past year though, ive been using myspace less and less. although i still check it at least once daily, i dont refresh every like 10 minutes to see if i have updates, because i never do. almost nobody uses it anymore.
FACEBOOK because when i joined, facebook was exclusively for college kids, and i was going to be a freshman, i had to join. initially, i didnt enjoy it. there wasnt much to do that i cared about. i liked the clean look, but it offered nothing. things changed multiple times, some for the good, some for the bad. facebook is such a different experience now than it was and now its so much better. luckily facebook stopped trying to be like myspace, though sadly myspace is trying to be like facebook now. they just added facebook's chat bar thing to myspace. but im constantly on facebook because everybody else is. theres so much to do, that i think ill be here for a while. oh wait, here comes twitter...
TWITTER i kept hearing about twitter for a while and finally researched what it was. it was more or less like a site devoted to just facebook status messages. i have that on facebook, theres no need for twitter. to devote a whole site around that seemed pointless and i refused to join. just 5 days ago i joined anyway. i still didnt get the appeal. but i found some celebrities i wanted to follow. tina fey, alyson hannigan, and sarah gilbert among others are fun... and so are the other 42 i decided to follow. and now im an addict. idk what it is, but i love hearing that clare kramer and tom lenk won first place in a breakdance competition and hearing about eliza dushkus african safari! now, lucky for me, because twitter is so simple and its just these simple status messages, i dont think it will prompt me to abandon facebook (though i think ill probably update my fb status less, since i now have twitter).
well this turned into a semi interesting entry.... see you in 6 months!
