The next opus is about to begin.

Whoa. Just for kicks, I visited my old ff.net account to look at my dead fics (in which it was updated last 2004). When I read through one, I couldn't remember writing it, let alone recall its plot. Sure, it was riddled with phail grammar and loose storytelling faggotry, but what made me furious was that I wrote a cliffhanger. Even I was looking forward to the continuation of my own story. What's up with that.

Bought a copy of Bob Ong's new book, MacArthur. I didn't know the author already published a new one, until my brother pointed it out (even though I was standing in front of the shelf for more than ten minutes).

Bob Ong deviated from the usual blog-like social commentary on the state of the Philippines, and delivered the same issues in prose. I must say I wasn't surprised to see him write a short story, since he hinted in his previous book, Stainless Longganisa that he was contemplating on writing one. Even the quirky and hilarious style he was known for gets old.

The story is very dark but not entirely strange, because everyone knows his very own shadow intimately. It has characters you'll frown at, with struggles you'll understand, and with moments you'll smile at.

It's worth taking a peek, and it just costs a hundred pesos. Rarely do I find good books with a 100-price tag on it (unless it's on Booksale, etc.). It's written succinctly, so it gets to you at once; I finished it in one sitting. :D

You'll soon understand why it was titled MacArthur.

Now back to thesis faggotry.
