Ok, so let's not talk about how little I've gotten done at work today because I've been too absorbed in fic. (And I try really hard not to read fic at work, but dammit, it's your fic, and I just spent last night re-reading the majority of your other fic, and so was understandably delighted to see a huge Big Bang fic from you and couldn't help myself)

This was good, consistently compelling writing. I loved the scene near the end with McCoy & Jim under the stars, and how it echoed how Jim used to help McCoy out.

I liked this very much. Your writing is precise and graphic, your characterization is excellent, the plotting and pacing very satisfying. I appreciated the friendships as you described it them, of course the enduring bond between Kirk and McCoy but also the burgeoning understanding between McCoy and Spock (loved their exchange about Tarsus). Very nice!
