[On the screen of the skyphone, Strago can be seen with a thoughtful look on his face, wondering about something. He then decides to clear his throat and speak.]
So, I have heard the people here call the Espers here, "Eidolons", and I was wondering if that is one of the names they go by in other worlds? Do you call them something else in your world

Are you one, then?
[Eying him curiously, now.]

[Looks at the green-haired young woman back.]
No, I'm a Blue Mage. I was just merely curious and wanted to know about people who can summon without the use of Magicite.

I see. Well, in my world, Magicite is basically the crystallized life essence of an Esper, or an Eidolon, if you will. It was created by using a horrible method of draining their energies, up to the point where only their spirits remained inside the crystals. Humans often used Magicite to gain magical powers.

Eidolons are worthy of great respect. To treat them in such a way...it's beyond blasphemous. Can't humans just learn magic like they do here?

I doubt they could. In my world, Magic was basically non-existent, due to the War of the Magi. There were three gods that used humans with magic to fight their wars. Some of them became Espers.
[Pauses for a moment, then continues.]
When the war was over, the gods realized their mistake and sealed away magic from humans, and the Espers fled from our realm and created a new one for themselves. But the Empire had other ideas, unfortunately, and decided to use magic to destroy and conquer other lands that opposed them.

I heard about the Empire from Locke, but he didn't exactly have a mage's perspective. Hearing about all that makes it sound even worse.
[Her eyes narrow.]
They had best not arrive here. After dealing with that man and Garland, Gaia has no patience for those with plans of world domination.

You know of Locke and Kefka?! And he told you about the Empire? Hmm...!
[Then his mouth forms into a bitter smile.]
Anyways, Kefka was responsible for turning my world into an uninhabitable place, killing off Emperor Gestahl and the Empire in the process. But, somehow, we managed to defeat him, at the cost of the Espers and magic disappearing from our world forever.

A world without magic...then again, considering how it's been abused there, maybe it's for the best. At least that isn't the case here.

[Sighs.]
Anyways, What are the Eidolons like in your world?
Reply
[Yes, she's very proud of that.]
They're ruled by Leviathan, Lore of All Waters, and Queen Asura. Bahamut, God of the Eidolons, doesn't live in the Feymarch, but in his own lair on the Red Moon. As for the rest, there's a few that seem common to just about any world; Shiva, Ifrit, Ramuh, Titan....

[Then furrows his brow when he hears the name Bahamut.]
We have an Esper named Bahamut as well. We found him inside a monster called Doom Gaze, which kept fleeing from us every we tried to attack it.

Doom Gaze? I haven't heard of that one. It's weird to think of him being found that way...but then, I suppose my way is weird to you.

Oh, not at all. Locke told me they fought Espers in the Magitek Research Lab and earned their trust before turning into Magicite. I do believe their names were Ifrit and Shiva.
Reply
I know Ifrit and Shiva! I grew up with them both, in the Feymarch.
