Which her actual studies are still in a pitiful state, the servants have been whipering about how much she's been taking great care to examine every corner of Figaro Castle, studying the brickwork and the mechanisms and how it would all fit together when diving

[Of course Edgar's going to notice that. He knows every inch of his castle. Unlike the rest, though, he knows where the access plates are for the duct systems. So he heads down to the nearest one, taking a sword from one of the guards because monsters have gotten in the system before, to open the plate and crawl in to inspect for himself.]

[And just a little way in, there's an artist crawling along with a bag of monster parts. She freezes upon running into Edgar, then thinks and waves.]

[Edgar had heard the approaching sounds and settled in the duct, autocrossbow aimed at the crossduct they were coming from - and it was only wanting a sure shot that made him not set the thing off at Relm. Shock hits him as she pops up, waving, realizing he just nearly killed her, but he shakes it off quickly to lay the weapon aside, watching her now with contained fury.]

Relm. What in the name of all the goddesses are you doing in the ducts.

[Which is convenient. Because if it was then her answer would be fairly unsatisfactory.]

Um. I got lost?

[It's technically true. She did get lost. She just. Got lost while already in the duct systems.]

There is no possible way you could get lost in a manner that explains you being in the ducts. Out, now.
