[Accidental Voice]

[Bored of this song yet? The music box plays a few times more before Bartz gives a heavy sigh, apparently not aware he left the phone on.]

...it's not like the world won't just be reborn again. But-

-well, I better figure something out. Running outta time faster than I thought.

[She's not one to butt in on things, but this seems to be one of those times she needs to.]

Having trouble deciding?

Just a little. Time went by faster than I was expecting, you know?

Yeah. Believe me, I understand that one.

[...Which is ironic coming from the one who can send people back in time.]

Is there anything I can help with?

...nah, I'll figure it out on my own eventually. Just kinda- feels that no matter what I do, I'm gonna have regrets.

Hmmm... People you leave behind no matter what you do?

[If she sounds sympathetic... she is. It's just that her choice was a lot easier than some of the other people she's talked to.]

People, places- suppose I could look at it the positive way. No matter where I end up, there's gonna be something familiar there. S'just had to think of it that way right now.

Right. And no matter where you go, there will be people to support you. You won't be alone, no matter what happens.

Got a point there, I guess. Suppose I should try to think of it more like that.

It definitely could be worse.

I mean, you could always come look at it, but... if there's one thing I've learned about Gaia, it's that there's always someone who will miss you if something happens.

...miss me, huh?

[Not something he's used to thinking about. Making marks on people's lives, good or bad, is something he tries to avoid.]

Of course! That's part of what having friends is all about. You have their backs, they have yours, and if one of you is gone, you miss them. Enjoy the good times, support through the bad times... It's all part of friendship. So I'm sure someone would miss you.

[Excuse her, she always does the friendship thing.]

Huh. Never thought of it that way.

[He's used to fair-weather friends, ones he can have fun with while he's in their lives but leave without hurting. This is all fairly new to him.]

I guess it's different for everyone.

Guess it is.

...was it an easy choice for you?

[There's a long pause from her and then she sighs sadly.]

Someone really important to me died seventeen years ago. If she wasn't here now... well, I wouldn't know her like I do now. Things are happy for us, all of us. We're a family again, the way it was supposed to be. If I go home, I'll lose all of that.

And all my friends are here anyway, my new family...

So... yeah, my choice was easy.

...I'm sorry. I'm glad this place could help you all like that.
