[The back of Lilisette's head had only throbbed more as the white, puffball had started speaking to her. Its words went in one ear and out of the other as she idly listened, its speech familiar but not quite on par with her own world. Speaking of, the last thing she remembered was the tear-streaked face of her tag-team partner and the gaping vortex ( Read more... )

I haven't heard of Vana'diel before, but I'm new here.

I'm Aerith.

I'm relieved I'm not the only new one around here. [She smiles and waves a bit; videos are still a bit strange to her.] I'm Lilisette, a dancer.

[She pauses for a moment before curiosity gets the better of her.] If you're also new here, did you come from another world as well?

[Aerith smiles at her words.] It's nice to meet you, Lilisette~ you're a dancer? How wonderful! I think that I have two left feet hehe

Mmhm! I most certainly did! A few of my friends are here with me as well, but they arrived long before I did.

I was a clumsy child. [She finds it remarkably easy to speak to Aerith, and she can't stop herself.] With limbs that were too long, and feet that were uncoordinated, but my mother was a famous dancer in her time so she taught me. As dancers died out in our world, she stubbornly branded the steps of the Kriegstanz into me.

[A soft, childish giggle escaped her lips before she shook her head.] How nice, to have friends here. Have you met up with them already?

[Considering how graceful Lilisette looks on the screen, Aerith finds it hard to believe! But the mention of the dancers dying out, she looks worried.] How come the dancers were dying out?

I've met up with one so far~

During the Great War, dancers were used on the front lines of battle to support soldiers. But the war was hard, and many of those most familiar with the fundamentals died in battle or soon after. My mother taught me much, but even she was claimed by the lasting effects of the war when I was just a girl.

[Even though what she says is heavy, she smiles. In some ways she's come to terms with her parents' death, at least her mother's.] I'm relieved you've found a familiar face! Once I've completed my task and your reunion is completed, I'll come show you that anyone can dance.

I'm sorry to hear that. It must have been quite hard on you.

Oh! I'd like that a lot! Once I'm done in Midgar, I'll be heading over to meet my friends in Luca. Hopefully I wont be a disappointment~

It's quite all right! All a part of the past now.

[She laughs and hits her fist into her open palm.] I'm not a star dancer for nothing. I'll have you dancing sambas and waltzing in no time!

[She smiles at that.]

That would be great! I'd love to learn them.
