[ It's been a draining week. Things are getting better in Alexandria after the Lunar Cry, but the end still isn't quite in sight. Having Zidane jump in to help has been a great relief, but it also means that they've barely had any time alone since he returned. They only see each other occasionally at meals, and at night. She's made jokes about

[He is asleep, mostly. But Zidane's still adjusting back from his time in the Void, where sleep only happened briefly and never everyone at the same time. When Dagger nudges him, he comes awake in about two seconds, turning over to face her.]

Yeah? What is it?

[crowned_jewel]

[Still quiet, but not really whispering anymore] I can't sleep.

[princessstealer]

[He wiggles an arm free of the blankets to drape it over her and pull her into him - as much as he's able to, at least, baby bump kind of gets in the way.]

Why not?

[crowned_jewel]

[She hates that distance... but she just sighs.] Well... I want to sleep, really, but... for one thing, I just can't stop thinking.

[crowned_jewel]

[She looks at him, bewildered] A terrible pun-- [That's right, Zidane. She didn't even realize she was doing it. But now that you've pointed it out to her... she cracks a smile... and then starts giggling]

Oh! I said, 'set in stone' and we were talking about... I wasn't even thinking!

[Oh man she's so cute, Zidane can't help but laugh too and pull her into him - as much as he can - to hold her. But he finally manages to get them settled more so they're lying together, mostly by not lying at entirely parallel angels.]

It's adorable, that's what it is.

[Well, Zidane, you have successfully gotten her mind off her troubles... for a little while at least. She's quite content now, just inching up to nestle her head against his shoulder.]

Flattery will get you nowhere. [She's teasing now? Well, maybe just a little.] But, in all seriousness... Do you want to keep thinking? We have a few weeks... [Funny, how at the beginning of this conversation, a few weeks seemed so short... now it seems like all the time in the world.]

Nah, flattery gets me somewhere. It got me here, after all. [Not that he's complaining :D] We can keep thinking. It's not a lot of time, but it's still some time, and we got a list started. If we think of more, we can add to it. [And he'll be going back through his copies of play scripts to find more names.]

Okay, so that was one... what do you want to talk about next? The meeting? The monsters? Steiner needing to get new armor?

[And he grins back at her.] Being kept up by the cutest, most beautiful woman in any world? I'm gonna count myself a lucky guy, then - even luckier in the future when you're keeping me up in other ways.

[Oh yes that is a devilish smirk you see there, Garnet. And a tail you feel on your calf. Zidane is a little sex-starved, after all.]

[She puffs up her cheeks a little, and gives him a little slug to the arm] You know it's not at all romantic when you say it like that. [And she suuuubtley shifts her leg away from his tail. But then she uncurls her fist, and runs her hand down his arm, eyes following.]

[Oh, she does not want to admit it out loud, but she has missed him just as much. Then she lifts her chin and gives him a long, slow kiss. It's probably mean to tease him like that, but she'll take what she can get and give, for now.]

[He'll take what he can get, too. The kiss continues long and slow, but it starts to get deeper the longer it goes, and that tail goes wandering back to her legs. One hand is also starting to drop down to her butt - he really is pretty starved for physical affection after all the fighting in the Void.]

[And she just... lets him. No objections, no pulling away... Her hands moving over his shoulders, behind his neck. Then down again, over his chest, pulling around his back -- like she doesn't know where to put her hands, she is so out of practice, and so unsure.]
