[Voice] Winterfest Musings

Dec 16, 2010 13:51

[Only a voice post, but to anyone lurking in Alexandria castle, they'll find the army's general stealing a private moment to herself at the top of the West Tower. With the coming holiday season, her thoughts return to a perennial concern of hers.]

Winterfest begins in two days. I wonder, is it possible to truly attain forgiveness?

[Shadow remembers the voice of the General, after all, he makes a note to remember such things. Normally he wouldn't bother with such things, however, the subject is one he wonders about everyday. Finding a spare moment, he wonders if maybe he might be able to help the General, maybe even himself.]

May I inquire as to what it is that needs forgiving?

[A pause, some more information would be nice, however he doesn't really want to pry.]

...Was it an order?

Yes it was, by a queen who until that point in her life had been kind and fair.

I'm assuming it wasn't the current Queen?

Listen, the only thing you should seek forgiveness for isn't for following the orders. However for being blinded by your loyalty. Should you truly seek forgiveness, don't let the same thing happen again. As for the kingdoms. Well, that's up to the new Queen, Dagger if I recall correctly. That is her job now, and as one of her protectors, your job is to protect her, and not let her make the same mistake, nor follow the same path.

The current Queen is her daughter.

Is it enough to serve and protect? It seems too little.

[A soft chuckle.]

No it's not. In fact, just serving and protecting was what got you into your issue. You need to be involved and a part of her life. You need to speak up when you think she is wrong, after all, you have more experience at this then she does. But, most of all, you need to trust her.

I do. I would lay down my life to spare hers.

Then that is all you can do. Work for a better future for yourself and for her. There is nothing that can be done for the past, however, it is the future you must stay focused on.
