❦ The Calm Before the Storm? [audio]

[Lingering behind the scenes for far too long, the King of Damcyan decides to speak finally regarding this latest panic about the I'Cie. Edward wasn't very thrilled in how the public received this message or pleased with how some members of the council seemed to cling to the Lt. Commander's words. Therefore, in an attempt to stir up discussion ( Read more... )

To condemn without knowledge or proof of ill intent is unwise. I hope none are so eager to secure Gaia that they forget this.

This is what I hope as well, Mjrn. I am troubled by what I see, and here as of late. Troubled enough to warrant me to speak upon a topic I rather not participate within.

I possess very little patience towards those eager for blood.

Nor do I. It is especially disturbing to see from other Sky People. They know well how it is to be judged, yet they turn and do likewise?

This is the hypocrisy of it all! I cannot believe that those who are labeled as 'Sky People' are so quite to judge.

We know nothing of the L'Cie or of their world. Therefore, how can we pass judgment so quickly and so soon based upon hearsay?

Only a mummer would be a willing pawn within this farce.

It has happened before, with others. Yet, Kefka soon proved himself unworthy while I have yet to see or hear of these l'Cie perform any comparable acts. We cannot throw away possible allies while it is certain that this world's balance is crumbling....

In due truth, I find it maddening that we haven't been able to do away with Kefka as of yet. Although, it would seem all of Gaia is eager to wage war against a handful of unfortunate individuals.

Then they ought be reminded to redirect their ire, against one who has earned it time and again. There are higher priorities than to harrass people who have done nothing.

If only it could be that simple. I fear that when politics are played, personal agendas are also played. It is not uncommon for such bad politics to be had, especially amongst those who are deemed as the representatives of the common.

I do believe instead of waging a genocide, we should perhaps be more attentive to rebuilding our towns and cities first. The Silver Dragons left much destruction in their wake.

Aye, this is quite true. We know not when the next swarm shall occurr, but I have little doubt that it will again happen. If not through Silver Dragons, then other creatures....

This is what we should be worried about, the next supposed swarm. Many have fallen during this insanity, we cannot allow more to die!

I...

[A sigh]

Mjrn, I will not have what happened in Narshe be repeated a second time.

[A brief pause.]

We will do all we can to ensure that it is not.
