MLK weekend was awesome! Yay for Baltimore and Jon! =D
Today the entire school watched the Inauguration. Loved his speech, and it was almost like an alternate reality seeing a classroom jam packed with kids fall into a hush as soon as Obama started speaking. Of students started complaining that they didn't care about it, but what can you do. I can partly assume it's because he starred using vocabulary that was beyond their literacy comprehension and that they didn't want to connect the dots. But more than two-thirds of the class was paying attention, which I think a good percentage. I find his rhetoric so mesmerizing and I love his tone and message so much more than the previous administration. I hope he can be a new FDR and get things done. As of right now, he's inspired many (especially the students) and can't wait to see how the first 100 days goes. (And btw, it was so nice seeing the moving van being packed up with the Bush's stuff).
Also was able to get registered for my Master's Thesis course. CCNY makes you walk-in register since they go through your transcript to make sure you're in good standing. Was able to hang out with some friends who were also registering, so I was in an even better mood than before.
And I just found this video that made me literally ROFL that involves Star Wars being told by someone who hasn't seen the entire thing. I love it because (a) I, too, have only seen bits and pieces of Star Wars (b) I'd pretty much describe the trilogy like that too. Except I know what ATATs and Ewoks are. And (c) No, I really don't care about actually watching them. They bored me when I was a child and it still does.
