If a restaurant's food makes me ill, there is also legal action I can take. Of course, this issue is more complicated because we have to find out why the food made me ill. If the food was rotten or otherwise toxic, then the burden falls on the restaurant. On the other hand, If I get fast food every day, become overweight, and eventually have a heart attack, that's a different issue. Where you draw the line between those two will always differ from person to person.
If someone gets me sick, then we're at that border. Did we share a drink, or just pass the germs through the air? Did they purposefully infect me or was it an innocent (or ignorant) mistake? Either way, though, the responsibility rests entirely on the people involved and not on the government.
I'd say I agree with Rinku, even if I find it a little over-simplistic. I'm against most of the things he listed, though there are good arguments to to why there should be socially managed industry.
