OFF TOPIC! Moogle, I've started working on a project (not House 3) and I'm thinking I might want a musician. Do you still do compositions for OHR games? No timeframe as of yet, but I kind of want to see if I can get someone in line.
Well, it's the remake of the Query Series (Still working on a title--thinking of calling it "Bohrlia" something or other). It's like a fusion of OHR House and the style I was going for with the last remake. Episodic (no experience, equipment decisions, etc) with only the necessary battles (hopefully more balanced that way; I can give each battle a 'solution'). The game will cover the entire story (instead of being five games) and will be released in "Episodes" just like OHR House. The player can select any episode from a menu or keep a save file and play through from any point.
I want music sort of similar to Bjorn Lynne's (which I used in Who Am I?), but I'm open to any interpretation of the game really. If you want, I can send you the script of the first episode so you can see how the tone and story are different. I am thinking of getting MulticoloredWiz to help with graphics, so hopefully it will look nice too.
This interests me. I probably can't commit to a full soundtrack, but I'd like to help where I can. The problem is that you'll need the largest batch all at once for the first episode.
Regarding episodicness, here's a thought: You could script it so that it autosaves to a single save slot and carries some information between episodes. That way, you can make it so that a sidequest you did in episode 3 teaches a character an attack which is then available to the character in all subsequent episodes. I'm sure you'll want to reset a lot of things between episodes, but sidequests are one of the things that made the original great and it would feel cheap to reserve them all for the last episode. You'll probably want to allow the player to save mid-episode, but you could do that as well via scripting.
