Aside from driving all over NJ, it was actually a very nice Christmas. Everyone behaved themselves, in-laws included, and the stress that I was expecting was no where to be found. Thankfully.

My weekend started Thursday. I spent 10 hours in the kitchen baking. I made 2 cakes: a sugar-free carrot cake for my diabetic mom, and a sugar-packed chocolate cake for the rest of us. I also made about 8 dozen cookies. Then Friday I had to go down the shore to pick up my grandma. Somehow I got involuntarily volunteered because I'm the closest. I disagree, but grandma was happy to have some one come get her so I scored a few points in the favorite grandchild category. Christmas Eve we went to my mom's for lunch so we could see my brother and his kids. It's hard to get together when everyone has in-laws and such now a days. After lunch it was off to my in-law's for dinner. They live about 20 minutes from my mom, so it wasn't too bad. Christmas day was back up to my mom's for dinner. Then Monday it was off to my aunt's house to visit with my other grandma. Unfortunately, from our house it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get to all these get togethers. So, we spent a whole lot of time in the car, but what are you going to do?

Santa was very good to me this year. I got a new digital camera, a portable DVD player, and a beautiful diamond bracelet. I also got a cappuccino maker from my mom...which makes me a happier camper while I'm getting ready for work at 5 am.

Countdown to vacation: T minus 11 days!
