The New Musèe Trailer

Feb 09, 2005 00:38

This last weekend Michelle and I met with a grant writer for our Musèe documentary. We are going to be submitting to ITVS this Friday! In order to complete the submission I had to create a new trailer that shows the structure of the film. This trailer is very different than the teaser that I did 2 years ago.

before i gush, i'll tell you my one super dorky grammar comment. at the very very very end when it reads "in san francisco" that implies to me that its current location is outside of san francisco (even though it says pier 45 on the prior shot...but just grammatically...or if you weren't paying attention or didn't know enough about sf or something). i'm trying to think of a way to make that not happen and i think even saying "within san francisco" instead works better. but maybe that's worse. ugh. or just taking out the "in san francisco" all together and just leave at it "...its rightful place?" yeah. that! feel free to ignore me. i'm curious if anyone else thought that or if i'm insane...

otherwise, i thought it was excellent. i agree with the first commenter that it's too bad there isn't more interpersion of little clips. but the only reason is because it makes it more "trailery" (i made up that word). and i have no idea what a trailer *should* be like for the purpose that you need this one for.

and i also want to say that this is all coming from a relatively new bay area girl who knows only as much about this story as you've told me. the trailer got my attention, made me want to see more and get more of the story, made me start to get a little angry, was interesting as hell, well-done and entertaining. as soon as i had a question it cut to another clip that gave me a little bit of the answer. perfect.

god i talk a lot.

i also like that it sort of felt like a mystery because it cuts off right before we get to see what the hell pier 45 is all about and how it happened and all that. it makes you want to see more.

ok, i'll shut up now.

There is some stuff that will be in a much more refined cut of this that even more acsentuate the tension of the Musee having to move.

Thank you soooo much for the long feedback on this. I agree that the grammer needs to be changed!
