We're back home now, and currently both in cyberspace, albeit in different corners there of. No, neither one of us is in a Mood-- it's just how we tend to relax after traveling, Geeks that we are.
Friday was all right, I suppose, nothing too interesting happened. Devi drifted back to our room after some breakfast (and some 'herbal ciggies', judging by the lingering smell) with Auntie R. (I am glad that R is able to help her feel better about things. I clearly can't these days. Kroll, if we end up not getting on inside and outside the bedroom, I will truly go insane!) We joined the en masse venture over to the set just in time for lunch. In the afternoon, we watched Col shoot the last bits of the miniseries, then joined in on the wrap party.
(Shelby was quite amusing-- at one point, she went up to Col and asked when her Daddy would be back. Col tends not to break character between set-ups, and he was pretty convincing at being someone else. Shelby's au pair dragged her off before Col could answer. Just as well, really.)
Yesterday, we filmed the video for "Winter Wonderland." It went swimmingly. Mother nature cooperated by flurrying on and off, which leant a nice authentic winter air to things. Everyone-- which, for the final sequence, included the extended Dame entourage (with the exception of the au pair and the Dame p.a.'s)-- looked hawt hawt hawt in Regency gear. And I only had to endure abuse from, oh, just about them all re the beard not being period.
Note to the relatives: Bite me!
Right, in the evening we Bearcubs cruised back to the wine bar we had invaded on our first night in town for a convivial evening of talk and nibblies and several bottles of an outstanding pinot blanc. (Caro and Mads both insisted on white, since apparently they both get migraines from too much red. TMI, AFAIK!) Rebecca was looking quite cozy snuggled up to Odd Man Out Colin, at least until her mobile rang.
I've never seen two people's body language change so fast.
Rebecca became obviously angry and upset; Colin wrapped himself around her much more tightly and stroked her hair, murmuring obvious words of comfort to her. Col never behaves like that, not unless he's in 'Daddy' mode. Eventually, though, Rebecca calmed down, but spent the rest of the evening holding hands with Col.
On the walk back to the hotel, I tried to pump info out of Col, but, in another surprise move, he wasn't talking out of turn. (Still holding Rebecca's hand probably had something to do with it, now that I think of it.) I didn't have much chance to contemplate the situation, though, because the moment we reached our room, Devi was all over me like an Anorak on New Series news. And there was much rejoicing!
We all went our separate ways this morning, Rebecca scoring a ride back home with Col. Something really weird is going on there.
And thus, you and I are both caught up with each other. 'I can hardly contain my excitement,' to quote a certain American companion…..
