I always find that being surrounded by baseball fans is a good way to make you stop caring about baseball.
I'm more invested in the (White) Sox when I'm not in Chicago. Then again, it might have to do more with the percentage of people who assume I'm a Cubs fan (there are certain things you just don't accuse people of in polite company).
I think I've gotten so used to people being extremely excited about the (Red) Sox that I kind of forgot anything was going on.
I think if the're doing well in the Series, I might go out to a bar in Davis (which is a real happenin' place and walking/drunken stumbling distance from my house) to watch the game and make some drunken friends.
Also, I'm so glad I don't live in a rioting area. Does any other team's fans do the riot-when-they-win-riot-when-they-lose thing?
Haha, I've got a lot of stories about the Bulls in the 90's. Mostly about not being let out at night, then coming to school the next day to hear other people talk about their parents (or uncles, aunts, older siblings) rioting.
I didn't believe the White Sox had a chance of winning the world series two years ago until they started riot-proofing my neighborhood. Then I knew that shit was for real.
But I think the Red Sox are one of the few teams that perennially gets so close to winning that rioting becomes a problem. It's an issue whenever sports team get that close to winning-win or lose, emotions run high, but the Red Sox just do it so often. . .
I think the Yankees had the same problem until they just got used to winning. Then again, the Bulls riots didn't stop after eight years. . . it wasn't until they stopped being anywhere near good that people stopped turning over cars. Now? I don't know.

You can watch the games online, if you want.
