Today was the Centennial of the 1906 Earthquake. I would have loved nothing more to have been there at 5:12am at Lotta's Fountain. Instead, I was in front of my TV at 4:30am. I can't believe I heard my alarm, either. Long story short, I was interested in watching it, and I watched it until after all the last survivors said a few words. That was tiring. It was almost 6am. I shut my eyes quickly, falling asleep in a position which can be described as Macaulay Culkin in "Home Alone" running through the house. Except my hands were on my forehead. My mouth though ... wide open.
I woke up at about 7am, then 8am. I've been up for who knows how long, but I'm so tired.
But during my break today, I walked over to Lotta's Fountain and payed my respects. I can't believe they got that thing working, too. I've never seen the fountain actually working ... the little pools where there was water pouring in had some bouquets of flowers in them. Usually, they're full of garbage. Sad, but true. It's good there wasn't anything of the sort. The fountain is an odd gold color ... like caramel. It looks plastic, too. Oh my.
Anyway, I need to do my homework, and then I'm going to bed and not waking up until I need to. I took quick naps on the bus today, which was free. And pointless, since I have a damn MUNI pass. Woe.
