I got promoted! Finally! I went into work yesterday to find an announcement of my new supervisor position. Yay for an extra dollar per hour. No, it doesn't seem like much, but it adds up to another $50 or so in my paychecks every two weeks, and an extra $50 is $50 more I can put towards paying off my debts. There seems to be tension between me and my coworkers now though, but it may be (hopefully) all in my head.
A customer told me that I should quit and find a better job. I agree, but at least things are going well right now. They're giving me the hours that I want when I want them.
I should be able to pay off my credit card bill this month completely, and will then be able to slowly pay my grandmother back the $1,000 I had borrowed from her for school. She had told me that she "gave" me that money, but I can't accept such an extravagant "gift".
Before the end of every semester I do the math to see how well I need to do on my finals in order to maintain my A's. But wait! I don't have all A's in my classes this time around. After some careful calculations, I have determined that it will be impossible for me to get straight A's. I haven't earned anything less than an A since the first semester of senior year of high school. I'm pretty sure I'm okay with this, but I had intended to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. In the end, it doesn't at all matter. I just can't wait to finish with school and begin my life.
My Art and Development professor handed me back my grade for the very first lesson plan I have ever created. I designed a fully integrated lesson on paper snowflakes while incorporating science, geometry, and multiple art principles. My grade was a 74 out of 50, and she wrote "Min, you write, design, and critique as if you have been teaching your whole life. I hope you don't mind, but I will be using your lesson plan as an example for my future students as yours is perfect."
Take that, suckas! I may never be rich and I may catch germs all the time, but at least I will be a good teacher.
I found a new song to put on repeat. "The First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes is just adorable. My current playlist on Ruckus consists of the following:
"Lucky" by J. Mraz and Colbie
"Beautiful Mess" by J. Mraz
"Live High" by J. Mraz
"I'm Yours" by J. Mraz
"You and I Both" by J. Mraz (I'm on a J. Mraz thing right now)
"Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's
"Popular" from the Wicked Soundtrack
"All You Need is Love" from the Across the Universe Soundtrack
"Question" by Old 97's
"Paper Planes" by MIA
"American Boy" by Estelle and Kanye
"The Luckiest" by Ben Folds
"Your Song" from the Moulin Rougge Soundtrack
"Comfortable" by John Mayer
"Home" by Michael Buble
I can basically listen to the same songs all day long. Debbie hates it. I love it. I've been listening to some of these same songs for years now.
What I don't love, however, is continuous Christmas music this early in December. I'm tired of hearing that darn Alvin and the Chipmunks song at work. I'm going to bring in my Charlie Brown Christmas CD if I can find it.
Things I'm looking forward to:
-Brandon coming home on the 17th and staying until January 4th
-Bella getting her stupid cone off so that I can sleep peacefully again
-Baking/making yummy Christmas treats (Nutella filled cookies, peppermint bark, brownies, cupcakes with Andes chocolate surprises, fudge, etc.)
-DISNEYLAND on the 26th
-Whatever play/show we're going to watch on the 20th
-The end of the semester
-Dinner tonight because I'm hungry
-Visiting Irvine Spectrum, Huntington Library, Laguna Beach, and wherever else Brandon may want to go to
-My shoes from Old Navy I ordered on Cyber Monday to come in
Class is starting soon so off I go...
