uh huh, uh huh, yeahhhhh
last night was smoosh and the go! team and this fun garagey band called the grates opened and the singer was cute and danced around all innocently like bjork. smoosh came on, played a 40 minute set that featured about half new songs which are great and complex and so much better than anything off the first album. but they did play "rad" and it is probably their worst song but i went crazy and sang along to the line about getting on a soccer team. the go! team emerged, six deep, with backup singers to boot. ninja led the raucous crowd in an hour long dance party. they played the whole album plus song b-sides and we all danced like their was no tomorrow. after the show, shirt completely drenched in sweat, wind taken from my tired lungs, i realized that even though i miss my friends in portland, i have some pretty good ones here, too.
