Thanksgiving
I had an ok Thanksgiving break I suppose. Dad got me an awesome new bed. It is so soft. I didnt' want to get out of it the entire time I was home. We got a keg for the game, which was pretty cool. Dad apparently doesnt' realize that things have changed since he was young. We were at the liquor store buying the keg, and it came to the part where he had to fill out the paperwork. He turns to me and says, "Here Ricky you fill out the paperwork. I don't have my glasses." Then he walks away. Luckily my brother was there, and he was intelligent enough to know that you have to be 21 to drink in this country. So then dad starts talking about the game the next day and says, "Yeah I'm gonna have about 10 kids over at my house to watch the game." I think his next move should have been to don a clown outfit and dance around the store singing about how underage drinking would take place with this keg. Dad has the house looking really nice now. He got a flat screen for the living room, and all of the furniture and stuff is in place now. The only thing that went bad was the fact that OJ decided he was going to be violent and stupid this weekend. During the game he kicks the coffee table across the room (it's on wheels) and spills beer all over the new floor. This is after he has been beating his head on the coffee table. He does this right in front of my dad. He later starts kicking the couch across the room. I kept telling him to quit breaking shit, but apparently that did not register. He made a bad situation even worse by taking his anger out on innocent furniture (new innocent furniture). I tell him this, and he finally realizes that he is not acting appropriately and goes to bed.
I also started receiving checks from the VA to pay for school, so now I am going to be able to pay off my student loans. I think I am going to get a MacBook as well. I know several people who have them, and they all say that they are really awesome machines. I have always hated the fact that I can't go anywhere if I have some sort of project that requires my computer.
Thanksgiving really got me thinking about how much I cant' wait until Christmas break. This semester has been such a hassle, and I can't wait to get some down time. Although, I will be staying at Tech 2 or 3 days extra to get some work done for my research project. I'm thinking I will stay at Tech this summer and work full-time researching. I wouldn't have to move my stuff out at the end of the year if I did that.
Has anyone noticed that the radio stations in Atlanta have gone kinda crazy? 99x plays nothing but emo these days, and 96 rock sounds like 99x used to be. 96 rock pretty much only plays alternative music now. They are calling it project 961 or some such crap. Its kinda weird.
