I think my English has gotten worse. That's not a bad thing, is it? I am think it makes good for the showing signs of new language learn.
Three day weekend! Monday was a public holiday (Sea Day), which is simply another reason to skip work and drink. I didn't have any chance to get drunk though, since I was with my host family the whole time, and they don't drink much.
Here's me wearing yukata, summer kimono. All the Japanese people said I looked nice in it, but I figured it was the requisite social politeness. There's my host mother, Kyouko, to my left, also in yukata.
Here's a bunch of people also in yukata. This was a celebration of Tanabata, the Star Lovers' Festival (crappy translation, but the best I could find), which occurs on July 7. This group of people are studying Japanese. My host mother is a volunteer teacher.
Mr. Daiji SHIN, IES Tokyo staff. He's a pretty cool and funny guy. Here he is reliving his high school garage band days.
Oops, looks like I may be late for class. Oh well. It's just the final test today. I should've had a couple of beers beforehand.
