Outlet malls are more fun than I thought

This past weekend, my fiancée and I went to one of Japan's famous outlet malls: the Gotemba Premium Outlets. We had planned to go some time ago, but dreadfully windy weather (which caused the trains to stop running for a while) postponed those plans.

When we got there, I realized I had actually been there before; my study abroad group went there to conclude our trip to Mount Fuji. I was a poor, poor university student in a foreign land those 5 years ago, so I didn't buy anything then. I also wasn't particularly interested in fashion or buying my own clothes very much then (oh, how delayed my development was...).

This time, however, I was able to enjoy the experience and actually buy some things.

We found a store that sold Tim's potato chips. We instantly bought a bag of pepper-jack flavored chips and snacked on a bench. Man, real 'Murrican potato chips... We ate the crap out of that bag, so I never got the chance to take a picture of it. No matter! The Internet can help.

What? It's a bag of potato chips.

Anyway, on to the really cool stuff I got for a really cool price.

There was a Godiva Chocolatier there, and we did not waste the opportunity.

Got this box o' chocolates for around eight dollars American. Inside the square box with the ribbon was another box, this time heart shaped.

It has 6 pieces of luxuriously delicious chocolate. I still have some.

Next, I finally got some new shoes.

I blame my former roommate, Huy, for making me a Nike fan. These shoes only cost around 20 bucks US, too. Apparently, they are Nike Air Downshifter II running shoes. I have no idea what that means in terms of level of awesomness on the Nike fashion scale, or whatever. I just needed some quality running shoes that don't look like crap.

...They don't look like crap, do they?

As if that wasn't enough, I also recently bought a pile of computer parts to upgrade my not-very-aging system. I have too many pictures of that, so I'll leave that for another entry.
