The End of the Beginning

Nov 05, 2007 20:08

Today, I finished my first day of work at the new company. Looks like I'll be working a (Japanese) standard 9 to 6 weekday job. Today started at 10 for some reason.

Anyway, much of the day was spent translation checking and writing e-mails to potential freelance translators. We hire those from a certain recruiting website, and I managed to mess up something since I was not familiar with how it worked, and I fail at asking questions when I'm not sure. I really need to loosen up so I can actually speak and understand Japanese as well as I possibly can.

Well, it's just my first day, so HUEG LIEK XB0X mistakes aren't exactly unexpected. I just hope it doesn't have any severe repercussions down the road, but that seems pretty unlikely.

In other news, my American debit card expired. I have money in my American bank account, but I really don't have any access to it at the moment. I'm getting my new debit card sent here (should've thought about getting it before leaving America >_<) in the meantime. I should be okay financially until then. One good thing about Nova's near-collapse is that no one can be held responsible for rent money until it actually collapses.
