Work News Bullet-in

Sep 18, 2007 21:33

  • I've finished nearly 6 months of work, which means I can claim vacation days soon.
  • I've finished the initial probationary period and paid off the 120,000 yen salary advance, which means my paychecks are going to be about 40,000 yen larger than previous months.
  • I've applied to a freelance translation company. I'm all but hired (that is, recruited into their huge list of faceless names), but work depends on whether or not they have anything for me to translate based on my employee profile (which has no language certification nor actual professional translating experience).
  • It seems that many Nova branches are closing, notably the Kids school I don't like. I have mixed feelings about this.
  • A friend and coworker has applied and attended two interview stages for a real Japanese company. I await news of his results.
  • The money's still good. I'm about to send about 100,000 yen back home to pay off government debts.
  • I'm planning on visiting home again on the only vacation Nova teachers get: after Christmas and a bit after New Year's Day.

This has been another bullet-in.
