Time To Use It Up Refrigerator Surprise

Sep 14, 2015 23:04

I had a couple-three chicken thighs I'd thawed two days ago, and half a pound of baby bella mushrooms that were bought I can't remember how long ago. I chopped up both of those into little pieces plus about five cloves of garlic and my last onion, and threw them into the frying pan with enough olive oil to keep them from sticking. I dumped in about a cup, maybe a cup and a half, of frozen green beans because green, and sauteed it all together for a bit while I thought what to do next. Then I sprinkled in a bit of garam masala and dumped in some curry powder and stirred it in. Oh, and some chicken bouillon as a flavorful salt. Then I added a can of diced tomatoes and about a tablespoon of julienned ginger and stirred it for a while until it was less watery. I stirred in something over a cup of homemade plain yogurt and simmered it another five minutes. I determined that the chicken wasn't yet done enough to suit me (I strongly prefer my chicken very well done) so I added another ten minutes. That's when I realized I completely forgot to start the rice I'd planned to have with it, but fortunately I had just run the bread machine again today.

It was good, and I may do it again on purpose some day.
