Yesterday I was supposed to have gone to my niece's gymnastics competition, the last of the season. For some reason, I had gotten it stuck in my head when
dr_zrfq first told me about it that it was on Sunday, not Saturday, so it was a rude shock to me Friday night when he asked me whether leaving the house around 9:30am constituted sleeping in. (Ummm, no. Not even. That's only barely one hour later than usual.) I was very tired Friday night, and had been looking forward to Doing Nothing on Saturday for days, so I determined to bail. As you can see from
the post I made yesterday morning, it was in fact the right decision to make. (Besides, despite it healing well, the appendix incision is right where the seatbelt goes, and I'm still happy every day that my commute is so short.) And
dr_zrfq finally getting home at 10:30pm confirmed that I never would have lasted the day had I gone.
Instead I spent the day at home. I had attempted to lure over some company, but in the end analysis it seems it's just as well that didn't pan out, disappointing though it was. I spent more time on the sofa than not, and a great deal of that time was sleeping, not just reading as my IM away message so optimistically advertised.
I slept so much yesterday that I was surprised when I woke up this morning: I had actually slept well, the whole night through. Hopefully I'll manage that again tonight, because I'm determined to go to gaming night again tomorrow, but I've been doing the same, lazy, snoozing-on-the-sofa thing again today.
