I love TOOL
So last week, I went to see TOOL twice in 3 days. I saw them on tuesday May 29th in Tampa. Cherub and Ty gave me a ride to the sundome. I sold my extra ticket and ran inside. Yup I went all by myself. Of course I was sitting with pussy fans who just ...well sit there! Plus there was a lot of people there who weren't TooL fans at all, I don't know what they were doing there. It was rude to see lots of people walking around during the show. I think Maynard could feel that too, he knew a lot of people weren't there for them. After the show finished he just walked off. I would have too. But they played great so I did have fun.
Then I went to see them in Orlando. I was kinda bullshitting the next day after the Tampa show telling Cherub and Ty "Hey Tool is playing in Orlando tomorrow maybe I should follow them!" Cherub said I should. And I really wanted to in a way. So the next day while at work with help from Heather, I got info for Orlando. Tool was performing at the Amway Arena. I was terrified of driving to Orlando but a lot of people were telling me how easy it is...it just takes 2 hrs. So I got directions from AAA trip tick and I asked my buddy Petey to join me. I was about to head to the arena myself thinking no one could come. But Petey called back saying he could. So after work Cherub and I went to the mall. I bought 2 tickets, thankfully Cherub was bossy enough to step behind the tickemaster desk so she could check out the seating. I got some great seats too! I sat on the right side of the stage where I could see everything. It wasn't floor but oh well I'm too short for the floor anyway! I was scared to head out to Orlando but I made it. I called Petey once I found which exit to get off and I picked him up. We arrived kinda late at the show. By that time I think the band had played atleast 3 songs. But that's ok. I was happy. I had a blast with Petey there it was nice, just like ol' times. The show was a lot better, the fans were more passionate about TOOL. There was more love in the air. Maynard was happy. But I kept my eyes on Danny Carey the whole time. I felt so good about myself. I went and followed TOOL to 2 shows in 3 days. Now if only they performed more often...I would follow them more around Florida if I didn't have to work but could afford the trip.
