- Saturday night, after Ribeiro's little stunt, Steve and I could not stop laughing and going on about him and some of our friends who like him (we can't stand him at all... such an arrogant asshole!)were saying we were only seing that and ignoring the rest of the game. I personaly can't help but laugh at Ribeiro's lack of masculinity. It's the second or third time this year I see him act like he's dying out there because of a stupid, minor thing.

- Kovalev... we were watching the game last night and really into it, and then... then 10 seconds and it was over. We just all stared at the screen in silence, disbelieving what had just happened. The two boys were quick to blame Theodore - we all know he's been soft - but I just shut up knowing I'd get my head ripped off if I dared insult the great Kovalev. I love Kovalev. I've loved him since way before he came to play with Montreal, and I was trilled to know he was traded here. But THIS? I mean, he was just starting to freaking wake up! he was acting like many players I have seen in real life, amateur teams. Those people in the team that are good and play for themselves. Those people who will act like kids because they missed the puck/ball and who will give up instead of chasing it. Simply NOT team behaviour.

YOU ARE DEAD ON.

Re: Ribeiro, he is soooo good, but suuuuuch a... can I still be a feminist and say "little girl"? I mean, that was beyond ridiculous.

Re: Kovy, I like him too, 99% of the time. But he was such an idiot! You have two hands, use one of them. They hadn't called a penalty in OT yet (right?) so he's incredibly naive if he thought they would surely call a slashing.

I watched the replay three times with my mouth wide open, jaw dropped to the floor. I couldn't believe it.

There had been one against Boston (Murray - Holding)

But I think that the reffing was just not there. I agree it's the series, I agree it's over time, but it's still the same game!!!!! Without the refs doing their jobs, players take liberties they usually wouldn't and then it's a whole different game. If I want to see players playing like that I'll go see a game in the LHSMQ, which is basically a league of goons.

Which league is that?

Yeah... I know overtime makes stuff more important, meaning any call that's questionable will be examined under a microscope, but a penalty is a penalty is a penalty is a penalty...

yeah. I mean, yesterday in the first OT, Ribeiro was trying to do something with the puck but another player was going around with the end of his stick in his hand! I have a theory that if it went on long enough for me to see it the refs had much mroe time to see it too.

LHSMQ - uh... Ligue de Hockey Senior Majeur du Quebec. I've never been to game but from what I've seen on tv it's all about fighting and stuff. Apparently a LOT of goons from the NHL end up there post-career.
I can't find an official site, or something semi-official in English....
