Happy 11th anniversary, montreal!
When I created this community back then, I did so because I felt that this great city that I loved needed it's own community space on LJ. We've grown so much, as a community, in those 11 years; co-mods have come and gone; meetups have taken place; people have met new friends; others have found invaluable answers to questions that can sometimes only be answered in a place such as this one; and we have grown in numbers. It wasn't so long ago that I knew the names of most members of the community mostly because I read every single entry and every single comment. I would spend hours adding every entry to the memories of this community. Now, we have tags and a search feature, so most of those posts are simply outdated, but they're still there.
I could spend those hours back then because I was a university student living in her parents' basement. Now, I'm a mom with a career and a family. It's true that the demands of the community have lessened; where I used to get weekly emails and pms from members, I now scarcely do. Still, I feel that it is time for me to move on. This is something I've been thinking about for years, but I'm simply so attached to this community that, even now, I cannot tell whether I'll be able to post this entry.
With that in mind, if anyone is interested in taking over, please contact me by pm. I can't say everyone will be picked, and I'll let kazutakia see how she thinks things should go from now on.
