I used Déménagement Myette when I moved a few weeks ago. They were extremely professional and careful with all of my belongings. Their rates were very reasonable (and they offer discounts to students, seniors, and members of the vegetarian association). And the bonus? They're eco-friendly because they use bikes with special trailers to carry everything! I probably had about 400+ pounds worth of furniture being moved up a hill in the rain, and they had no problems. It was quite the experience to watch them!
I know that the company will move literally everything other than pianos (because they don't have the required insurance for that), including appliances. Check them out: http://www.demenagementmyette.ca/home/
That's really cool! This may be the answer for me especially since I'm just moving down the street. Could you tell me approximately how much it cost you in total if you don't mind me asking?
For an entire 3-1/2 apartment (including a 5'x3' super heavy desk and a queen-sized mattress & box spring), it was around $280 taxes included with a 10% student discount (~$270 pre-discount, pre-taxes). The hourly rate was $60, and it took them a total of 3 hours, plus an additional 1.5 hours in transportation (based on how far my neighborhood is from their business).

There's a 10% discount for students and seniors, or a 15% discount for members of the Montreal Vegetarian Association (http://www.vegemontreal.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=11&Itemid=147&lang=en); if you're neither a student, nor a senior, it would probably be financially worthwhile to become a member of MVA for a year to get the 15% discount ($20 for adults; $15 for students/seniors ( ... )
